Apprenticeship-supervised hours

60 hrs. of teaching by the apprentice, including 30 hrs. which must take place before being under the supervision of the master trainer.
6 days (or 2 X 3 days) of supervision by the Master trainer €700 + studio fee

Final Certification

Minimum 2 weeks before the Apprenticeship-supervised hours and a minimum of 6 months after the Foundation Course.

TRAINING PROGRAM DETAILS

The training program consists in 4 modules for a total cost of €3400 + studio fee. It takes 3 months minimum to become a GYROTONIC® apprentice-trainer and one year minimum to become a certified GYROTONIC® trainer.

N.B Note that the training price is fixed by the GYROTONIC® international Head Quarters. Studio fees include organization (paperwork, trainers’ transportation and housing) as well as the loss of revenue for the studio during the training. Studio fees are non-refundable and due at the time of enrollment.

Module 1 : PRE-TRAINING 850€ + studio fee

Conducted by: Gyrotonic Pre-Trainer or Master Trainer

Duration : 30 hours over the course of 6 days
Pre-requisites : 10 hours of Gyrotonic. Note that this module does not allow you to teach.

OBJECTIVES

Acquiring a basic comprehension of the GYROTONIC® Level 1 exercises practiced on the Pulley Tower Combination Unit.
During the training, students will develop a personal comprehension of the exercise series from the pre-training through experiment. They will also learn to use the hands-on tools.
Upon successful completion, students can move on to the next module in the training: the FOUNDATION COURSE. This second module can be taken one week to 3 months after the Pre-training module.

Module 2 : FOUNDATION COURSE 1500€ + studio fee

Duration : 60 hours over a 12-day period minimum
Pre-requisites: Successful completion of the PRE-TRAINING COURSE

OBJECTIVES

Acquiring the pedagogical and technical skills necessary to teach the complete set of Gyrotonic Level 1 exercises.

Upon completion of the FOUNDATION COURSE, students become apprentices in GYROTONIC® Level 1 and can start teaching. The apprenticeship license is valid for 1 year.

Module 3 : APPRENTICESHIP - SUPERVISED HOURS 700€ + studio fee

Conducted by : Gyrotonic Master Trainer

Durée : 6-12 months. 30 hours over 6 days or 2 periods of 3 days. Instruction of 60 hours to clients delivered independently by the Gyrotonic Apprentice.
Pre-requisites : Successful completion of the FOUNDATION COURSE.

OBJECTIVES

Apprentice Trainers must spend a minimum of six months with their personal and training practice (60 hours including 30 hours before the Supervised Hours) to become eligible for the final certificate.

Under the Supervision of the Master Trainer, the GYROTONIC® Level 1 apprentice trainers widen their experience and understanding of the FOUNDATION COURSE, preparing them for Certification.

Upon successful completion of this course, Apprentices can move on to the final module: FINAL CERTIFICATION COURSE. The final certification must take place 2 weeks to 12 months after completion of the Supervised Hours.

Module 4 : FINAL CERTIFICATION COURSE 350€ + STUDIO FEE

Conducted by : Gyrotonic Specialized Master Trainer appointed by Gyrotonic International Headquarters

Duration : 17 hours over a 3-day period
Pre-requisites: Successful completion of module 3. A minimum of 6 months must separate the Foundation Course and the final certificate course.

OBJECTIVES

The aim of this course is two-fold: training the Apprentices as well as providing a practical evaluation of their teaching skills and comprehension of the GYROTONIC®
Level 1 program.

AFTER PASSING THE GYROTONIC LEVEL 1 TRAINER CERTIFICATE

Upon successful completion of the final certificate, Apprentices become certified GYROTONIC® Level 1 Trainers and are granted a trademark use license.

CONTINUING EDUCATION, UPDATE COURSE, LICENCE RENEWAL

Trainers are then required to renew their license every other year. This means paying a $100 fee to the GYROTONIC® Headquarters and taking a continuing education class (duration: 3 days, fee: 350 euros + studio fee).
They can also sign up for courses with other specialized equipment (GYROTONER®, Leg Extension Unit, Jumping Stretching Board, Archway).

N.B: Note that each country has its own laws when it comes to teaching sports or practicing health. It is important that you inform yourself as it is your responsibility to know whether your background allows you to teach these types of classes. Upon successful completion of your GYROTONIC® training course you will be given a certificate testifying that you passed the basic GYROTONIC® trainer program. If you were not already, this is no way means that you are a sports or health professional in the country where you will be teaching.
